Before, During, and After Your Massage:

  • Do I need to shower before my appointment?

    • We do ask that you shower prior to your appointment and arrive clean and free of fragranced personal care products.

  • Do I need to remove my undergarments for the massage?

    • This is dependent upon your level of comfort and can be discussed with us prior to your session.

  • Will I be covered during my massage session?

    • You will be covered for the entire duration of the session and the sheets will be appropriately draped with respect to the area of the body that is being worked on at any given time.

  • Is it ok to talk during a massage?

    • We love getting to know our clients, and welcome conversation during your service- but its up to your comfort level and preference.

  • Is there anything I should do after a massage?

    • Hydrate! There are many good reasons why, but one of the main to prevent excess soreness and reduce toxins

    • We recommend that you try to spend the rest of the day relaxing and limiting any strenuous activities (such as working out, moving heavy objects, etc.).

  • If I am going to exercise on the day of my massage, should I do so before or after my appointment?

    • We encourage you to get your workout in before a massage session. After a massage the muscles are normally looser and can allow for a greater range of motion than you are used to. While this sounds like a great way to enhance your workout and push further than normal, it can actually have the opposite effect and leave you with a pulled muscle or even injured.

Sensitive Topics:

  • I have survived a trauma (or abuse) that is occasionally triggered by someone touching me. Is massage still beneficial for me?

    • First and foremost, please disclose this information prior to your session as it will help us to better help you. Massage is certainly beneficial in the healing process that follows any kind of trauma. Please let us know if there are any triggers that we should definitely be aware of in order to protect you and your therapist. Everything is confidential between the client & therapist and it will not be disclosed. If you are threatening to harm yourself or someone else (this is of course required to be reported immediately).

  • Is it alright to use tobacco products, marijuana, or consume alcohol before my session?

    • We request that these activities be reserved for AFTER your session. Other clients or practitioners may have sensitivities to the aromas that are present when partaking in these activities. We do reserve the right to reschedule a session if necessary.

  • Will any of my records be shared?

    • All notes and documentation will remain confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone else without your permission first. The only exception to this rule is if you are threatening to harm yourself or someone else, this is of course required by law to be reported immediately.
